Audi RS3 (8Y) Exhaust Controller

This isn't the same thing as getting an aftermarket exhaust or doing a downpipe/opf delete but for the money it's well worth it. In comfort mode through the rev range the exhaust becomes more audible with a nice tone, in RS/Dynamic/Performance I can now hear the sweet noise of the 5 pot through the full rev range. It doesn't really make the exhaust louder, it's very subtle but definitely noticeable at both low and high speeds in the various modes. Delivery took around 10 days total to the UK and the customs charge was £42. I had a small discount code so all in it cost around £190. I did need a friend with smaller hands to help me fit it but it took us maybe 15 minutes total, secured both units down with zip ties also. This won't blow you away it's a subtle increase in tone and noise but for the money the best exhaust upgrade available for this car.

I recently fitted the 11mode exhaust valve controller and overall I’m really pleased with it. Installation was straightforward — genuinely a simple plug-and-play job with no drama, which is always a big plus.

The unit itself feels well made and solid, not cheap or flimsy like some aftermarket bits can be. Once fitted, it does exactly what you’d expect it to do. The difference isn’t massive, and it’s important to be realistic about that — this isn’t going to completely transform the car into something wild — but it does add a noticeable improvement.

Where it really shines is in Auto and Comfort modes. The car gains a bit more presence and character, especially lower down in the rev range where it can otherwise feel a bit muted. It just gives the exhaust that extra bit of life without being over the top.

Overall, if you’re looking for a subtle enhancement rather than a dramatic change, it’s a solid upgrade. It does what it says on the tin, and for the price and ease of fitting, it’s definitely worth considering.
