This isn't the same thing as getting an aftermarket exhaust or doing a downpipe/opf delete but for the money it's well worth it. In comfort mode through the rev range the exhaust becomes more audible with a nice tone, in RS/Dynamic/Performance I can now hear the sweet noise of the 5 pot through the full rev range. It doesn't really make the exhaust louder, it's very subtle but definitely noticeable at both low and high speeds in the various modes. Delivery took around 10 days total to the UK and the customs charge was £42. I had a small discount code so all in it cost around £190. I did need a friend with smaller hands to help me fit it but it took us maybe 15 minutes total, secured both units down with zip ties also. This won't blow you away it's a subtle increase in tone and noise but for the money the best exhaust upgrade available for this car.

Very easy to fit - no need to jack up car or use any tools. Under back wheel arch (passenger side) Just unclip the current plug from black exhaust valve adapter and insert it into the 11mode valve controller then insert valve controller into socket on the black exhaust adapter. It really is as straightforward as the video animation. NOTE- for UK expect to pay around £49 to have parcel clear custom and be delivered (VAT, customs charge plus Post Office handling fee). Arrives in UK but then held until you pay the fees. Given how easy installation is and can be put back to OEM with no trace I think it is still value for money.

I received the controller on Jan. 27, 2026, I only installed it on Mar. 30,2026. Prior to installing it, since I drive through the Canadian winter with snow etc. I noticed that the cable is well sealed at both ends with silicone. But the wires coming out of the sleeve into the connector is exposed, and the wires going into the connector appears to have internal seals in the connector itself, but I covered the exposed wires and the end of the connector with extra automotive grade silicone for better physical protection against the environment. I programmed the Home-Link buttons prior to the controller install, I programmed the right button (easiest reach with right hand thumb pushing the button and fingers on top of the mirror for LHD car) to open and the middle button for OEM setting. After the controller install, the Home-Link did not work and I had to reprogram it. It did work with the remote. As some had mentioned, it had quirks and It did not work sometimes. I didn't try with the remote at that moment, so I don't know if it's a controller, Home-Link or a BMW issue, I have to cycle through from comfort to sport plus etc. a few times to get it to work. It's so random it's not an issue. I start the car, which starts in comfort, I open the valve, and instantly hear the boomy sound, I then put it into sport plus mode, sounds great, which is how I do most of my driving. As for the fake sounds from the speaker, I did try setting it to "reduced" and with the stock exhaust it is to quiet and boring, so I have it set to "depends on the driving mode" and I sounds great.

Easiest install for my RS6, took less than 5 minutes and worked perfect. Synced it to one of my garage door opener buttons so no remote needed. Would definitely recommend!
